It was built from 1937 to 1938 and designed by James O’Hanlon Hughes who also designed St George's Church, Polegate. Built in the late Gothic Revival style, it is situated close to the town centre, on Village Way near the junction with the High Street. According to Nikolaus Pevsner's The Buildings of England, the church is "worthy of Sir Giles Scott himself".

Black Nore Lighthouse is a grade II listed building in Portishead, Somerset, England. The cast iron white-painted lighthouse was built in 1894 by Trinity House to guide shipping in the Severn Estuary as it made its way in and out of Bristol Harbour. It sits on a small outcrop where the estuary opens out into the Bristol Channel. Before its light was decommissioned, the lens array flashed twice every ten seconds.
